Funny, how the two English and Portuguese words sound similar, but have quite different meanings. When people acquire counterfit objects, they don't feel "contrafeito". Pretty much on the contrary. In spite of being illegal, counterfit purchasing is not perceived by the buyer as an offense or a crime. Very simply, because they always feel that they are just buying the counterfit because they can't afford the real one. Or the the real brand doesn't really suffer from this because there are enough wealthy people buying the real thing in order to keep the brand alive.
I guess we have no problem cheating on companies, as opposed to people. Is is the companies' or the people's fault? Will we ever be mature enough to see the other layer, the one which hides behind the corporate facades?

É que há certo e determinado tipo de objectos que, como diz o outro, não são para quem quer...são para quem pode. Por isso é que há alguns que compram na praça só para terem uma aproximação ao sentimento daqueles que PODEM. O problema, e dou o exemplo dos relógios, normalmente nesse tipo de objectos com grandes pretensões, os cronógrafos não funcionam!! Lá está, não é para quem QUER...
É pá, um gajo também está "contrafeito" com alguns políticos que temos e auguenta ... concerteza eram de material contrabandeado na altura em que o "papai-mamãe" foi praticado ... probably daddy's one didn't "fit" well ... gosh, who knows? (este comentários bilingues até parece que são do contra...ou será do "counter" ...?
